Filip Wojciechowski
Pianist
Filip
was
born in in Poznan, Poland. From 1989 to 1994 he
studied at the Chopin Academy of Music in Warsaw
under Professor Bronislawa Kawalla and, as a
post-graduate student, under Professor Jan Ekier.
He is also a graduate (with honours) of the
Conservatory of Music and Theatre in Bern,
Switzerland, where he studied piano under Tomas
Herbut and chamber music under Bruno Canino. In
the course of his musical education he was
supported by artistic advice from such
outstanding pianists as Krystian Zimerman, Murry
Perahia and Paul Badura-Skoda.
Wojciechowski has won many awards at prestigious
piano competitions, including the Claud Kahn
Competition in Paris (1990), the European Chopin
Competition in Darmstadt (1992), the Piano 80
Competition in Fribourg (1997) and a special
award at the XIII International Chopin Piano
Competition in Warsaw (1995). The pianist's
artistry has also been honoured by awards in the
form of scholarship: from the Ministry of
Culture and Art, the Chopin Society in Warsaw,
the Yamaha company, the Polish pianist Andrzej
Wąsowski and by the Young Art Medal in Poznań as
mark of recognition of his outstanding talent.
With
his playing of great sensivity and virtuosity,
he has captivated audiences in numerous concerts
both on European and American continents and
renowned venues such as the Berlin Philharmonic,
the Konzerthaus and Lutosławski Studio in
Warsaw. Among his artistic achievements are
numerous recordings for Polish Radio and
Television as well as recording companies,
including Denon in Japan, Sachsische Tontrager
in Germany and Dux in Poland.
As a
soloist Filip Wojciechowski has appeared with
leading orchestras including the Sinvonia
Varsovia, the Sinvonia Baltica, the Deustches
Kammerorchester and the Berner Symphony
Orchestra under such conductors as Cord Garben,
Marc Kissoczy, Bohdan Jarmołowicz, Szymon
Kawalla and Marek Pijarowski.
